Weightloss on Vacation
Just got back from vacation and was pleasantly surprised to learn I’d lost 5 pounds. Actually, I kind of knew that I’d lose some weight while on vacation, but wasn’t absolutely certain.
One of the first things I noticed when we arrived on the island was the eating habits, or more accurately, my eating habits. For breakfast, I was actually waking up early enough to eat it and the choice of food was healthier (though not overtly) than what I was used to eating.
For lunch, I ate mainly cooked food that one would think is more fattening, but under close scrutiny, is much better than fast food. Plus, I ate less. Not to the detriment of my health, mind you. We were simply busy doing our daily vacation things: walking, swimming, exploring, playing, and so forth. The change in eating habits combined with increased exercise is probably what got the pounds melting away.
Now that I’m back home, I hope to keep some of the good habits that we learned while abroad. I personally woke up earlier this morning and actually got some breakfast in me (rare). Now it’s all a matter of staying up to date with my exercises and limiting the amount of fast food that I ingest — of course, that means I’ll need to start cooking which could be quite fun. Cooking is something I haven’t done in a great while and it’s something I’ve always had an interest in. Hmmm, maybe this trip was good after all.
