Hello Weight Watchers
On Saturday, I accidentally wandered into a local Weight Watchers. You may be wondering how one accidentally happens into any place, but I assure you, it can and does happen.
Moving right along…I asked the folks at the front desk about the program and I also found myself chatting with a few of the other people I saw coming in and out. Before long, I’d struck up a nice conversation with a couple women who eventually convinced me that it would be a good decision.
Stepping on the scale for the first time was quite sobering. I’d definitely lost weight since I started my weight loss journey, but I was still heavier than I’ve been in my entire life; I even felt a tear well up, but the woman assuaged me with some comforting words about her own weigh loss journey.
Today marks my fourth day following the program. They explained the differences between the Flex plan and the Core plan. I was certain that I’d be a core plan girl because I love fruits and vegetables. After considering all the other foods that I enjoy which don’t fall in the Core plan guidelines, however, I opted to go with the Flex plan.
Filling in the quick track guide each day (basically, a food journal) has been eye-opening. I definitely overestimated the amount of dairy and water I intake per day, plus, I underestimated how much I actually eat. For the past couple of days, I’ve been forcing myself just to make my daily point goal (which is 26 for anyone else who’s taking the Weight Watchers challenge).
So far, it’s fun and motivating. Taking the plunge has aided my shift in mentality and that can only be the beginning of good things. In fact, today I just joined a gym. Here’s to losing even more weight, faster.
