Made It Through Turkey Day Alive

I feel like sh*t. Of course, I felt much worse yesterday evening and this morning. This morning, I could barely move at all. My body felt like an anchor and it ached deep into the marrow of my bones. In case you’re wondering, I have the flu.

Not surprisingly, having the flu does not bode well for exercise because every ounce of strength I have needs to go to fighting off this virus. So, I’ve been in bed all day, drinking lots of water and fluids. Haven’t eaten too much and what I have eaten has been fairly healthy (Apples, bananas, left over roasted turkey, etc.); I did have a few transgressions and drank a couple juice packs that are nothing but sugar water. But, hey, I’m sick.

Yesterday wasn’t nearly as difficult as I thought it would be diet-wise.  There was a ton of food, don’t get me wrong, but I chose carefully. What made it even better was that some of the desert items had been made with Splenda instead of sugar, so I could eat them guilt-free.

What I thought was funny at the end of the night was all the food had been picked clean, but no one touched the salad (*sigh* not even me). Frankly, it was Thanksgiving and not a time to be eating salads.

I hope that I’m feeling 100% (or, at least, 90%) by tomorrow so I can continue with my exercise routine. I was looking forward to moving a bit today, but being sick has certainly been a terrible blow to my morale.

OK, it’s more than apparent that this blog entry is borderline incoherent, so I’m going to finish up now.
